  35. .SH NAME
  36. confdb_key_create \- Add a new key/value pair to the Configuration Database
  37. .SH SYNOPSIS
  38. .B #include <corosync/confdb.h>
  39. .sp
  40. .BI "confdb_error_t confdb_key_create(confdb_handle_t " handle ",
  41. .BI unsigned int " parent_object_handle ",
  42. .BI void " *key_name ",
  43. .Bi int " key_name_len ",
  44. .BI void " *value ",
  45. .BI int " value_len "); "
  46. .SH DESCRIPTION
  47. The
  48. .B confdb_key_create
  49. function adds a new key/value pair to the specified parent object. Parent objects may contain
  50. many keys and also sub-objects. The names of keys are not required to be unique: if you
  51. call
  52. .B confdb_key_create
  53. twice with the same parameters you will create two identical keys in the database.
  54. .BR
  55. The parent object should already exist in the database, it can be OBJECT_PARENT_HANDLE
  56. (the top-level object) but this is not recommended.
  57. .BR
  58. Unlike objects, keys do not have handles, so you can't go directly to a non-unique key
  59. without using the
  60. .B confdb_key_iter
  61. function.
  62. .SH RETURN VALUE
  63. This call returns the CONFDB_OK value if successful, otherwise an error is returned.
  64. .PP
  65. .SH ERRORS
  66. The errors are undocumented.
