  35. .SH NAME
  36. .P
  37. sam_hc_callback_register \- Register health check callback
  38. .SH SYNOPSIS
  39. .P
  40. \fB#include <corosync/sam.h>\fR
  41. .P
  42. \fBcs_error_t sam_hc_callback_register (sam_hc_callback_t cb);\fR
  43. .SH DESCRIPTION
  44. .P
  45. The \fBsam_hc_callback_register\fR function is used to register a user provided
  46. healthcheck callback. After calling of this function, the SAM is switched
  47. from application driven healthchecking to event driven healthchecking. In this
  48. mode, \fBsam_hc_send(3)\fR does not need to be executed.
  49. .P
  50. The parameter \fIcb\fR is callback function of type \fIsam_hc_callback_t\fR
  51. defined as:
  52. .nf
  53. typedef int (*sam_hc_callback_t)(void);
  54. .fi
  55. .P
  56. This function will be regulargly called and must return 0 if the process is
  57. functioning normally, or -1 if the process is executing abnormally. When -1 is
  58. returned, the SAM server execute the registered recovery policy.
  59. .P
  60. A value of NULL can be passed into this function to switch into application
  61. driven healthchecking.
  62. \fIcb\fR to NULL.
  63. .SH RETURN VALUE
  64. .P
  65. This call return CS_OK value if successful, otherwise and error is returned.
  66. .SH ERRORS
  67. .TP
  68. CS_ERR_BAD_HANDLE
  69. SAM was not initialized and registered or health checking is in running state
  70. .TP
  71. CS_ERR_LIBRARY
  72. internal library call failed. This can occur during fork() or pipe () system
  73. calls and the errno variable can be read to retrieve more information.
